Let's do this.....YOUR TOP #5 COURSES YOU HAVE PLAYED

So reading PB's posting about his recent trip to Florida and the awesome courses he played got me thinking about what I consider to be my top 5 courses that I have played. I'm sure that once I play Sawgrass it will definately make the grade, but for right now the list is only courses tha that you have played. Straight up top 5 regardless. Not, this course would be in my top 5 if my wedge game was or or silly stuff like that. Just your top 5, no matter what. Here is mine:

1. Pebble Beach

2. Bayonet/Blackhorse Golf Course

3. TPC Twin Cities

4. Spyglass Hills

5. Craguns

I'd love to go back and play Pebble Beach now that I am a better golfer. I musta shot about 50 over when I played it. Need to redeem myself.

5. Still to be determined, I am playing the Classic at Madden's later this spring, and heading to Seatle with my wife this summer, and I will be playing Chambers Bay, so I am leaving number 5 open at this time. There are course in the metro I like, because it suits my game (Ridges, Meadows at Mystic, Legends) but they don't crack the top five for sure

Kapalua Plantation (greens were in bad shape but it was still a fun time)

The Judge (I love the mental aspect of this course)

PB - I bet you'll have a blast at chamber's bay. I haven't played it yet but it's on the short list, if my work takes me to seattle soon (it should) I am hittin that one up for sure.

1. Robert Trent Jones course in Coasta Rico, pretty cool to have a caiman in one of the ponds and iguanas running across the fairway.

My top 10, we are lucky to have some great courses in MN, the lists above make me want to play Whistling Straights, Pebble Beach and the Stadium Course. It would be nice to put some British open courses on my list too.

1. Fortune Bay - awesome layout, awesome condition, goergeous

2. Copperhead Course Innisbrook - cool course, very tough

3. Deacons Lodge - just has a great feel to it, love the huge fairways

4. Quarry-Fun tough course in an old quarry next to a 400ft mine pit!

5. Harktree- Bismark, black sand traps and rediculous par 3s.

6. World Woods Pine Barons - lots of sandy wastlands and grainy greens

7. Craguns - Fun courses

8. Classic - would be higher if it wasn't such a tough course

9. TPC Tampa Bay - stadium golf

10. University Ridge - all around great course

1. Windsong Farm (absolutely immaculate; best fairways in Minnesota and a great layout)

2. Hazeltine National (especially when I played it about 10 days before the PGA Championship was there when the rough was ROUGH and the greens were scary)

3. Dacotah Ridge (probably my favorite course, really)

4. Dinosaur Mountain Course at Gold Canyon (just outside of Phoenix> Incredibly scenic, and a fun, challenging course)

5. The Wilderness at Fortune Bay (awesome. make the trip...it's worth it)

Man you guys are blessed to play some great courses!

I could name a few of my favorite public courses, but I don't think the courses at Bemidji, TRF, Red Lake Falls, or Fertile Municipal really have a place on this list. Ha ha ha!!!!

I've played St.Croix National a couple times, and really enjoyed that course!

St. Croix National, is that the former downhill ski place turned into a golf course? I played that place one, I liked it, but like a lot of courses, I want, no wait, NEED to take another shot at it.....

My comapany trip is to Banff next summer and we are staying at the Fairmont! Can't wait!

I'd be going for a convention. Its supposed to be a great course and a gorgeous setting!

I don't know St.Croix' history PBW. I took my brother there a couple times, at least 10 years ago, for his "Birthday Round". The course has a lot of up and down, some steep side grades on the fairways, and some real deep bunkers. It was fun.

My brother said that Tom Lehman used to play there quite a bit? He also said it was a PGA level course, but I don't know? If I recall correctly it was like 40 minutes across the river east of the cities?

We nearly got escorted off the course one day cause my knucklehead brother came barreling down a steep grade, spun the cart on some wet grass, slammed sideways into a cart path and rolled the cart down the remainder of the hill. I stood there over my ball in complete awe as he flew from the cart, jumped to his feet, and continued his cell phone conversation like nothing had happened! The course police were on us in a heartbeat. My brother said it was just an accident. I said it was because he's an idi0t!!!

sounds like the place.........no it is not a PGA level course, like I said, I will take another shot or two at it this year, My brother lives in Eau Claire and we need to play there again. Front Nine is different than the back nine, that is for sure, that hokey par 4 on the back nine that you either lay up at 200 yards or try to drive the green due to the hunge waste area and valley is just plain hokey

Just got back. The Resort, Golf Course, and surroundings were gorgeous. Definitely recommend stopping by if you ever make it up that way. Here's a few pics I took with my Cell, so the quality isn't fantastic, but you get the idea:

Got the chance to play Interlachen last week, and that definitely goes in my top 5, and near the top. Not a blade of grass out of place.

Figured this'd be a nice place to post a few pics from my trip to Capitol Hill in Montgomery, AL this year.

Out of all the RTJ Complexes, I think the capitol hill is my favorite, all 3 courses there are well kept, fun, and challenging. Played the Judge at about 7300 yards... that was tough.

Next year we're heading to the Ross Bridge complex. Ross bridge is probably a little "nicer" than the Judge is, but the other 2 courses aren't nearly as nice as the senator and legislator at Capitol Hill.

I'll post some more up here once I am done uploadin them.
