tolle141
Does anyone have any ideas as to when the suckers start running (by region of state)? Cooler spring this year or so it seems.

20lbSloughShark
I wish it mattered to me, dang closed season. I generally see them in creeks about a week or two after ice out, and then its about 2 more weeks until they are done.
JPenny
Most species of suckers spawn in water around 50 degrees. If you can fish it, it can be a pike bonanza.
OnAFly
Might happen this year unless we start getting some normal temps.
Ice Wolf
When the weather stays cold in the spring for longer than normal. (Like we are having in Mn now)and all of a sudden it's 70 deg. outside the spawn can go very quick and if you are not keeping a close eye on water temps you may miss it. It seams like if we have a gradual warm up the spawn will last longer. Where I fish in northern Mn the suckers run just before and during the walleye run. DLD24
Crazy the difference in one year, I grabbed a bag of sucker fillets from last year and the date was 4/11 haha don't think that will happen this year...
