SoccerFin
My dog is a hunting dog and he goes on walks with my dad everyday once or twice. They are running or walking a lot and I am wondering how much or how long the walks should be so the dog stays in good shape ?
WaveWacker
Kind of hard to say, Is he leashed the entire time or are there areas where he can run. As long as he's getting out I'd say he'll be fine but if he has some "off leash" where he can run around incorporated into a walk/run, that's even better in my opinion. onthefly
I agree with Wave... Off leash time is much more valuable than on leash for walks. My lab ends up walking/running 5x further if he's off leash. Also, I train regularly. This gets him amped up. After a training session he's pretty worn out! I try to stop before I notice him dragging a bit.
