Powerstroke
I currently have an ASUS K52J laptop and the factory battery has apparently reached its life. The battery monitor now says "consider replacing" and it has slowly declined in its percentage of charge in the last month. Now it doesn't get higher than 94% and it affects the power control program that adjust brightness etc during use. So anyway, what is a good replacement battery? Are there any known "bad" ones? I believe I have an 8 cell battery. It had good battery life before, but I would consider getting a larger battery since I'm having to buy one. Thoughts? CAMAN
When I replaced mine I just went onto am@zon and searched for the batteries that would fit my machine. Then looked through the reviews and made sure there weren't any consistent problems. Obviously there will be bad batteries manufactured when they come from the discount companies but with am@zons return policies if you find a bad one you can easily get it replaced. Mine is going on 2 years strong and it only cost around $20.
Shack
I have had good luck just purchasing through Battries Plus or (now they do sell more) Micro Center if you want one tonight. I have ordered OEM replacements before but after having just as good luck with aftermarket I just go that route and non-OEM now. If you can wait then search evil-bay and online like CAMAN said. skee0025
+1 for batteries plus. I've replaced several batteries from several different brands and they've always had what I needed in stock
