browning_gold
I was wondering if anyone here has replaced a piece of steel siding in the middle of a wall can it be done the same as vinyl with a zip tool ?
King Canada
No, you can't but there is a way to cut out the damaged piece below the lap and cut off the nail fin of the replacement piece and slide the piece into position and pin nail it. It is really tricky to do and make it look good.
buckeyes08
Yes! You can it is hard but possible to do! It is done the same way. I'm a contractor and have done it a few times. One time the dish guy installed the dish in the wrong spot. For tools is the zip tool, tin snips, and a flat bar to remove nails. When done right it looks like nothing happened and the siding should look great.
dougger222
My sider has replaced a a section of both steel and aluminum siding on a wall without taking from the top down. Like others have mentioned it's tricky to make it look perfect. When replacing flashings on homes with steel siding we detach and reset to roof line all metal siding.
