SapperACE
I've been the a few times. We always stay in or around Sioux City Iowa when we hunt there. Licenses are around $150-$175 and you have to apply. You can shoot 2 birds with a license. Last time I was there was in 2011. Bird numbers were down a bit due to some harsh winters, but there were still plenty of opportunity. We ended up with 3 birds between 3 guys. 2 decent toms and a jake. Birds there are pretty educated due to the hunting pressure, but not as bad as the birds on the Santee Rez if you've ever hunted there. Be ready to do a lot of walking because traditional calling, decoys and sit and wait doesn't work as well there. We typically try to get on a gobbler in a tree before its light out and try to get as close as we can before he comes down. After the morning sit we try to do some spot and stalk. SapperACE
You will definitely see others while you're there. You'll want to get out there early in the am. people are pretty respectful though. We try to go where at least part of the time we are there is not the weekend. There is a lot of area you can hunt though and there are a few areas where there are pretty good stands of timber. There are rolling hills and some pretty rough ground. There are also some crop fields and edges where you will see birds feeding during the day. Overall, good turkey habitat. SapperACE
I think you have a good chance at drawing. I think there are usually some surplus tags too later in the season.
