Meat-Run
Hey Fish's Ice Saw owners how do you know its time to sharpen your saw? I moved my house today since my current lake went down hill and had to cut a new hole. The saw really seemed hard to push through or down and I'm just wondering if it pays to touch up the tips has anybody done this on there own or should I spend the money and send it in? Cutting a 4x2' hole 20" thick sure was a real treat even when I cut most of the hole with the auger....talk about cardio, whew!!!Meat-Run
Meat-Run
20" of ice sure makes the heart work a bit cutting the ice... mr
MJ1657
I would send it in. Get it done right and it should be good for several more years.Quite often they aren't "dull" the teeth are just bent out of position. The guys that build them can get them true again. Gordie
We had a new saw today and cut three holes and it was a cardio. My saw is due to be sharpened too.
Meat-Run
I'm thinking its just allot of ice to be cutting through maybe ill bring enough gas for the auger next time so didn't have to saw so much, ha MR
Gordie
We didn't use my saw today because mine is getting dull, and when the ice gets thicker like it is it's a work out. I typically drill more holes with the auger before cutting too.
