I have a 97 dakota that I put a meyers plow on, when I have the heater, radio and plow raising or turning the radio or heater will quite. am guessing that I either need to upgrade the alternator or replace the battery. anyone have similar problems?

Hydraulic pumps draw a lot of current. I'd assume a stock alternator in a Dakota is pretty small. Probably just enough to run the vehicle and a few accessories. I'd first get the battery load tested to be sure it is still good and replace as needed, maybe find a bigger one if you have the room. But if that doesn't fix it the alternator is the next step.
