Special Restrictions - Lake Overflow

With all the recent years of rising water levels (except this past one), what would be the regulations on fishing sloughs that are now connected to lakes with special regulations? A few lakes have an overflow culvert that goes under a township road, which due to high water now connects the two. The big main lake has reduced possession limits on many species....does this mean the slough does as well?

I've never even seen anyone fish the slough, and don't know if it has fish in it...but I'm always up for something new to try.

Check the DNR Rec Compass to see if the connected slough has a name. If it does then you are on a different body of water and the restrictions would not apply. Also be sure to check the fishing regs book to see if it mentions anything for the particular big main lake and it's connected waters.

The safest route is to call the local fisheries office and/or talk to the local DNR Conservation Officer.
