Ice Thickness around the state

Let's all chip in on thickness of ice around the state. Don't have to name lake, just size and area. Smaller lakes freeze first, but some have springs, creeks, rivers going in and change daily. With the weather we have now days, it iffy ice out there. Just give us all some idea what to expect out there.

Drilled a couple holes in Eden Prairie today and only found 4 inches of ice. I was expecting 6. Black clear safe ice but not much of it.

Just got off the ice from a western Wisconsin lake and had a good 4 inches of solid ice. I was expecting more, but with the upcoming cold nights, it should thicken up nicely. First time out in the new Clam Kodiak purchased at the ice show from Thorne Brothers. Felt good to be out again!

Union lake near Crookston and Thief River Falls had 10.5-11" last weekend, very cold since so probably 12" now.

Couldn't generate enough interest to get the reports I needed to get it together. Which was odd because it would get 10,000 views in just under two months with maybe 20 people contributing ice condition reports. So I decided it wasn't worth it any more.

4"-5" on the smaller lakes around Lakeville MN. Most of its good black ice but there is some soft white ice were there was already ice during the last big snowfall.

West of the metro - the small lake I checked today had 3 inches of clear ice on the bottom and 3 inches of white ice on top (6 inches total).

small lake in the metro area was 7 inches. about 5 of it was good clear ice!

Was out today on Okabena in the SW corner of the state and had a solid 6.5-7 inches.

Sorry Airjer, didnt mean to put you on the spot, thats really too bad, great map, with wonderful info, what you did was like the bible for early ice fisherman. Hope everyone realizes how awesome what you did was, and maybe get it goign again next year

Lesueur county lake had 4"- 7" all great looking ice. Wheelers starting to mill around and some sleds

Was on Clear lake in Waseca today, 5 inches of good ice, small crappies.

Most lakes in the lower SW corner are hitting between 6 and 7

Wakon Bay, Mille Lacs yesterday, 11.5 inches. Very little snow on the ice and many spots with no snow at all. Next time I will drive out.

Small lake in Crosslake, 7" clear solid ice, measured using tape measure. Now with the cold coming - perfect! Maybe 1.5" snow on top right now, and NO slush.
