Musky Buck
Hey guys, without trapping them so I'm talking shooting them, what would be the best maybe attractant to lure Oppossums into a nightime area to shoot them ? They're in my barn, garage, sheds, under my deck, even seen on the roof of my house, etc and I really don't want to support a semi-hibernating population of them. I do not want the horses to catch that equine disease from them. I put my t-cam in my yard this week and it recorded skunk(s), a few raccoon's, a porcupine of all things and several various sized oppossums. Are all 4 of those critters fair game after dark ? I couldn't believe all of that was in my yard and it being Friday night, the hunt is on. The coyotes are so thick around my farm I didn't think there'd be too many rodents running around. Any good ideas ? Thanks.
Grayfox
Musky,Hunting for raccoon and possum doesn't open until Oct. 20th. Raccoon could be hunted at night but without a light and possum are 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset. Skunk and porcupine aren't protected but you couldn't use lights at night either. I'm not sure if Minnesota has different rules for landowners like they do in Wisconsin. For instance I could hunt or trap for beaver, fox, coyote, coon, woodchuck, rabbit and squirrel year round without a license if I wanted.Hope this helps.Rob

They can be classified as nuisance animals allowing you to cull or trap them.. Call your local CO and inform him of the situation
