pushbutton
Do not really chase largemouth much, especially in the fall, but going out to this environmental lake on a canoe with Carmike. Have caught some monsters in here during the spring while crappie fishing, but never really tried this time of year and would like to purposely catch some., and again do not know much about late summer/ fall patterns. The lake has next to nothing for shoreline developement, ton of submergent....down to upper teens with a lot of emergent as well. Water is clear with muck, sand bottom, not much for rock or boulders. 150 acreish with 5ft contours to 40 in that hole. Thanks for any direction....... Craigums
being only 150 acres you should be able to fish the whole lake and develop a pattern. Im always partial to searching for weeds/docks/rocks closest to deep water, just look for the sharpest drop. But definately check out that flat just NE to the 40' hole (looks like there is a 5' hump or hole on the flat) Should be able to whip a spinnerbait/buzzbait/crankbait around there to cover all of it
cruiseforever
Lipless crankbait like the Red eye shad. Reel it fast enough to nick the weed tops and snap it free when you get hung up. And buzzbaits you can not throw them shallow enough now.
CCGinMN
I would try the West edge of the large flat that sits just East of the 40' hole. Large flats = large bass. I would guess it has a deep weedline as the mean secchi disk reading is 13.17' -very clear. Don't be scared to try some 18 - 22' depths during mid day. According to the DNR survey, Sagatagan is chalk full of small northerns so you might want to use a braid too.I dunno about you guys but the drought/low water levels has screwed up my favorite dock fishing spots. I'm having to make a few adjustments because of it. I want my water back; I am very tempted to do a rain dance. If anyone out there has a link to a youtube video of a good rain dance, let me know.
