Lake McConaughy

Recommended Posts

Possibly going there Summer of 2013 for a family reunion type thing. Wife's side so I will be fishing. Unsure of dates or resort. Currently looking at the resorts in the Lemoyne area (looks like 2 or 3 are close to each other). 22 miles long and up to 4 miles wide. Looks like it could get ugly in a hurry. I've got a 1998 Crestliner 1750 SC Fish Hawk with an Evinrude 115. At about what wind speed should I look at not going out for the day? I have no problem staying close to the resorts or on shore if weather warrants it. What's the predominate wind out of? Any areas I could tuck into if it's windy? Would concentrate on LMB and SMB. I see that it has Stripers/Wipers. What part of the lake can they be found in? Don't need anybody's spots but would like to know if the area around Admiral's Cove, Vogl's, or Northshore Lodge is any good for bass. Thanks.

Can't help you out a bunch with details as I have never boated it. Your boat will be fine out there, just pay attention to weather like you would anywhere else. There are coves to duck into here and there, depending on the reservoir levels at the time of your visit. Get yourself a chip for your GPS. Good luck and post results of your trip next year.
