Brad B Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 that requirement was removed for during the ice season as long as you are not fishing a lake that has the VHS virus in it. here is the press release from the DNR.http://news.dnr.state.mn.us/2012/05/04/a...ly-1/#more-8706here is the section of this release that talks about it.■Portable bait containers used while fishing through the ice do not need to be drained before leaving a water body, unless the water body has been declared to have viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS), a virus that is deadly to fish.
