cps420us
I had an 02 Grand Prix GT with 3.8L V6, 162000 miles. Transmission was slipping pretty bad so I got a used one put in. 2 days later mass air flow sensor went out and had to be replaced. 3 days after that it started overheating driving home and knocking a little. I took it to the dealership to trade it in, parked the car and 15 minutes later noticed a huge puddle of antifreeze under it, lifted the hood and antifreeze was all over, assuming blown head gasket. Started the car and the knocking was terrible. Is this just really bad luck or is there a possibility the tranny job had something to do with it? BTW, I no longer have the car, just curious what everyone thinks.
53orbigger
I'm not much of gear head, but I would guess it was just coincidence. I can't imagine how the MAF or head gasket would be impacted by installing a transmission.
