mnviking28
Looking to buy a Savage Axis-LH, 7mm-.08 for my son. Their HSOforum says it is new for 2012, but have not seen anyone with any stock. Have checked with a few retailers, no stock. Their distributors have no stock. Has anyone seen anywhere that has this gun on hand? I realize that it may not be released yet, but figured I would check to see if anyone has seen one yet. I don't really care if it is a bare gun or a combo, just want to find one. Scott K
I just bought my son a Savage Axis XP RH .243 from FF for $284. He has only put about 20 shells through it so far, but he really likes it, and it seems to be a flat shooting gun. I personally didnt like the trigger, but he liked it better then my Model 70 .243. nofishfisherman
I have the RH in .270. Also bought it from fleet for $280 something. Haven't shot it a ton yet but I like it so far. The trigger is most people's only complaint but it doesn't bother me at all, just a little stiff. Guess it just depends on what you like. But for the money its a great rifle. cribbageboy
I wasn't aware Savage even offered the Axis in that caliber. Just went shopping around the area with a buddy. Hit three stores. All carried the Axis but none offered it in 7mm-08. He ended up buying a camo .270 RH.
Born2Fish
I wasn't even aware they offered the Axis in 7mm either. I actually just purchased a new .30-06. I did see some Savage 111's in 7mm when I was looking around.

Are you looking for the youth model?
mnviking28
No-actually want the full size model. There is only about a 2 inch difference between the 2 guns so I would rather stick with that. I also wanted to clarify that I want the 7mm-.08, not the 7mm mag. mnviking28
Boar-saw a .243 in GF last weekend at the store that starts with "S". I ended up buying the model 111 with a nikon bdc scope package instead. It was on sale for $499. If you look at the cost of the scope ($180)-the 111 has the accutrigger and in the package costs only $20 more. But-like I said-had a .243 in my hands last weekend so I know they are out.
