AC on 05 Trailblazer

Recommended Posts

This thing is driving me nuts and costing a small fortune. Have replaced actuators in both front and rear, and most recently replaced leaking condenser. Now the thing still occasionally throws "heat" to the passenger side (dual controls) even when set on max AC. Also sometimes fan just doesn't even run, and will just kick on after driving for awhile. Shop guy says they've had similar problems in other TB, but most often in ones like ours that have the dual climate controls. Anyone have any ideas??

Frustrating to have just gotten the thing out of the shop and realize it's still not working right, and I'm questioning how much more we should spend on it before we cut our losses...

I know you just had the a/c serviced but I would be curious to see if there is a full charge of freon in the system. Dual climate GM's like to blow one side hot and one side cold if the freon gets low.

If it has a full charge than I would suspect the passeger blend door acuator.

Remove the trim panel under the passenger side of the dash so that the blower motor is accessible. Next time it does not work tap it with a screw driver. If it starts working replace it. If it still won't work twist the connector at the blower motor. If it starts to work replace it. If none of these work than check for power to the blower. If there is power on both wires than there is a proble. On the ground side (resistor, control head, ground wire). If there is power on one side and ground on the other than replace the blower motor.
