Spark Plugs on FORDS 5.4

Recommended Posts

I have been debating having the plugs changed on my expedition. We are at 115,000 miles. However it sounds like they are a PAIN IN THE &$%!. Is it worth the risk to do it yourself or just take it in, or is there someone on the site who is familiar with this and can be "hired" for a side job. wink

It sounds like if you have the Lisle "tool" to help remove if they break makes the job alot easier (realitivly speaking).

If it is the 3 valve engine, and they are original plugs, you may want to have someone that has done them before, do them. If it is the older 2 valve engine, they are doable at home.

If it is an 04 Expedition, it should still have the 2 valve engine in it, and those dont break off. If it is an 05, then it will have the 3 valve engine.

Is the 8th digit of the vin a L or a 5? Vin L is the 2 valve, and you should be able to do them, but they still can suck to do, but they dont break off in the head.

If your looking for someone to do them, look me up.
