Driftless
Have never been after muskie before. My expectations are low because of the 10,000 cast thing. My buddy Wally Banfi is taking me. All I have to do is show up Wednesday morning in Madison. Any tips to a virgin muskie angler? Wally with one of his many giant muskies. rugbymn
Have never been after muskie before. My expectations are low because of the 10,000 cast thing.Any tips to a virgin muskie angler? That 1,000/10,000 cast thing is only for guys who don't know what they're doing. If you're with experienced guys, you should at least raise a few fish.Just do what they tell you and you'll be fine. If you've never casted a baitcaster before, start out with short casts and increase the distance as you get more comfortable with it. mainbutter
You're already doing the best tip I have.Get out in a boat with someone who knows what they are doing.I have much more success raising fish when I'm with my buddy than on my own. Musky Buck
Just pretend you are fishing northerns, large northerns and good luck, best tip I have is like in baseball just try to get a little better with each swing/ with each cast with each game meaning day on the water. Nick Kuhn
Depends on where you fish. On Wingra, just keep casting, you are bound to see something. The other lakes, you will want to be precise in your targeting: and attack a variety of structures until you see something. Then try attacking similar structure. Jmeyers
You'll find that moving a fish for the first time is just as exciting as catching one! You may get a little sore casting big baits and burning cowgirls for the first time but just keep at it...once you see a fish your adrenalin will kick in and it shouldnt be a problem
