Thinking about trying to grow a few Christmas trees for family use on my land in Wadena county, any thoughts on what species to grow and where to buy them? Any input would be helpful and appreciated.

I got me some Black Hills Spruce. They are still tiny, but will become nice trees. I think slow growing compared to Blue Spruce though....

also have some White Spruce from many years ago as seedlings, that are now (8-10 years) some very nice trees that are about 5-6 feet, and shaping up to be beautiful trees!

Some white pines I started from seedlings are also doing great, but need cages around the pine to keep deer off them. Spruces you don't.
