Transom mount trolling motors.

I am looking to get a transom mounted trolling motor for my 16ft alumacraft backtroller. So I can backtroll without sucking exhaust fumes, any suggestions or people with experience with this? I would like to try and keep the cost under $400.00.

I would think you could pick up a transom mount 50# for less than $200.

If you don't mind the old white cover minnkota, i'm sure you could find one for less than $100 used.

My 2cents is to get a newer motor with true variable speed. I have a attic full of off brand and so-called good motors (I will sell you cheap) that suck the life out of your battery. (I love to troll or move around the lake with the trolling motor.)

You get what you pay for!!!

I would get a 50-55 lB variable speed with a maximizer for longer battery life. That will pull your boat around just fine.

Thanks Paceman I was leaning towards a new one, with those features and to be able to reverse the head on it. Minn kota traxxis is probably the best one that fits for me, thanks again.
