wild violets

does anybody have any tryed and true way to kill wild violets? last fall I purchased some ortho clover and wild violet spray..doubled the amount they called for and sprayed..I thought it worked but last week I noticed them coming up again...Yesterday I gave them a good shot of triplett?? I think thats how you spell it...time will tell if it works..

I live in the country so I have about a half of football field crop of violets..help

The herbicide you use should work. However, You should never double the amount the label recommends. You are better off going at recommended rate and then apply it again 2 or 3 weeks later if the label says you can.

Hotrod is right. Doubling the amount does nothing but throw chemical into the ground.

You wouldn't take 1600 mg of Tylenol because the doctor said you could take 800 mg.

You're better off running multiple doses a couple of weeks apart.

I don't double the application rate per se... it is based on 1 - 1 1/2 ounce of product per 1000 sq. ft...my ground speed is faster and my mist is finer so I adjust my mixture to reflect that..

I will have watch my violets to see if a second app needs to be applied in a couple weeks...
