Valv
Do you mean inboard or outboard ?Either way you can run just one, and correct the steering while navigating. No problem at all.I troll running one engine, for an hour or so, the switch to the other, so I can keep hours all same.

bASS_BLASTER
I run an offshore XS Merc SM. Supposedly setup to run two motor but only running as a single. Mine is a right hand rotation so it walks a bit and torques a bit. Left hand rotation has very little chinewalk and less torque but it all depends on what type of boat and hp you're running. I have no issues and I do very high speeds, 89mph but avg 79-82 for safety. Could use a torque tab for better handling.
boatfixer
Torque is the same, just felt differently. On a right hand rotation, the torque of the prop wants to lift the starboard side of the boat. On lefties, it does the opposite. One reason the driver side console is on the starboard side, to counter the lifting effect from righthand (most common) rotation. Handy if you kite that rig and wind up bouncing across the water at 80+. Oh yea, adding that trim tab will work wonders at those speeds and the motor height I imagine you are running.
