Ram 1500

Recommended Posts

Ok Here it gos and I am not trying to stir anything up but Does anyone have any expierence and thoughts on the Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi. I am looking for a half ton pick up and I am going used, something in that is 4 or 5 years old. Just wondering how they were power wise and mileage wise. Any info good or bad will help. Thanks

Not exactly the same, but I have an 06' Durango w/Hemi (4wd) and get around 14-15 Cty + 17-18 Hwy (depending on how fast you drive + conditions). Plenty of power (345HP I think), in fact it had the most out of the options I could afford, and that is one of the things that sold me on it. Additionally, they added variable valve timing to the Hemi around 08', which gets you even more power and about 1 better MPG. I'm at 80k miles & haven't had any major problems, just a few small ones and then normal maintenance.

Hope this helps and good luck on your purchase!

I'll tell you what, I got my 2010 Dodge 1500 SLT here about a month ago and I honestly couldn't be more happy.

Quad Cab, 5.7 Hemi.

Cruise set at 70mph on the highway, I get 22.6 mpg- that was on a trip to/from Alexandria with no wind.

Over the last gas tank, so mixed hwy/city miles I averaged 18.6 mpg.

I would highly recommend the Dodge.
