cleaning a painted aluminum hull

MNice

Recommended Posts

I bought a used alumacraft last fall and the hull has a scaly crust on it, from sitting on a lift all its life. The motor cleaned up pretty well with straight vinegar, but it was a son of a gun to do. Any tricks to remove this stuff besides a ton of elbow grease.

Thanks!!

Well, the answer is vinegar & elbow grease, I was hoping to have an easier time... but its coming out very nice. In the last picture, you can see the process, the first third of the picture is done, the middle third you can see the scale fading away and the last third you can see the crud.
