lugnut
not sure with the weather this week, but last sunday (4-1) 3 of went to waubay. temps were 43 in the big lake and 49 in a bay on the east side north of the refuge. it was terribly windy that day couldnt get to the dike road by grenville by boat just too many white caps for the 16 footer. we ended up fishing from shore for the afternoon and caught 5 walleyes and a nice perch. i hope that helps
Jarrod32
That sounds about right. I was on Waubay on Wednesday (the 4th), fishing the south end. Water temps were about 47 or 48 or so. Caught a few small walleye...nothing real big.
verg
should have no problems on either lake if you fish late evenings. This time of yr evening is king. Have caught numerous limits so far in waders. Haven't even taken boat out yet.
Jarrod32
Waubay continues to put out some nice walleye...no monster fish, but 16"-17" fish are common these days. Anyone else been out as of late?
Jarrod32
Another good day on Waubay...it took us most of the day (what a shame), but two of us each managed a limit of walleye, and we each added a handful of white bass to boot. Need to move in and out to get to the depth they are at...and the fish seem to move in and out throughout the day. But, working different depths and pitching jigs around eventually paid off.Just like my post above...nothing real big, but a lot of nice, healthy fish in the 14"-16.5" eater range today.Anyone else been out? Jarrod32
Not a rerun...just a recurring theme. Two of us with a limit of walleye on Waubay by mid-afternoon today, with a few bass mixed in for good measure. One walleye at 18.5", another at 17.5", and the rest in the 14.5" - 16" range.Word is that Bitter is hot right now...lots of fish, and some larger ones in the mix.
