RumRiverRat
Fishing Lake Pepin near Lake City and found this in a marina north of Lake City. It was large and very stinky. Have they been confirmed to be this far up the Mississippi?

Boxcar Wllie
That's not good. I have a feeling they are much further upstream then what the DNR believes.
Rick G
Not good ,I wonder what the population will be like in a few years Good news is there is a new forage base for some of the top line preditors. Bad news is they will wipe out existing food sources for some native fish species.
CAMAN
Did you alert the DNR?
Scott M
The DNR has evidence the fish are already above Coon Rapids dam. That's eDNA testing, not a physical specimen.
masoct3
That's very sad to see this so far close to home...

Seeker of Clayface
Gross. I am honestly disturbed about this fish potentially making its way into our fisheries. What a hopeless feeling.
Sonicrunch
Some of us in about 3 or 4 years. HA!Awesome video. I'll have to take a closer look when I get home for work. On the plus side, those carp in that video are small. Good eater size. The big ones are disgusting, but those little guys just might have some potential. Hey Scott,Kinda makes you wonder why they are going to go ahead and spend 30 mil on improving the dam's effectiveness as an invasive species barrier ehh? I have said all along that it is a huge waste of taxpayer money, and that they could hire armed guards to watch the dam for people up to no good trying to transplant them on the other side and still come out ahead. There is no way to stop the spread of them when you factor in the human stupidity element.
BartmanMN
I just came back from a vacation in San Francisco. Carp is selling for 4.59/lb in Chinatown.

OnAFly
Looks like what you use when you ice fishing for sharks As far as the carp go, our leaders saw there was a problem and dealt with is. So lets all just forget about them...right?
