WHAT WWOULD BE THE LONG TERM AFFECT ON USING VINEGAR AND WATER FOR REMOVEING WATERSPOTS ON A FIBERGLASS BASS BOAT OTHERE THAN SMELLING LIKE PICKLES.

I don't think you would have any problems as long as you wash the vinegar off after you remove the spots. Because it is a acid I would not let it just sit there.

The long term effect is you might have to wax it. I use vinigar/water to clean my boat (pretty fiberglass boat) at the landing and wash/wax it about once a month or so anyways.

I WAX IT ABOUT ONCE A MONTH ANY WAY HAVE USED HYDROCLORIC ACID CANT IMAGINE IT BEING WORSE ESPECIALLY 10/1 RATIO

I've used vinegar and water on my outboards for years to get rid of water spots. Never had a problem. The best way to avoid the spots is to wipe down after each use before it dries. Two or three minutes at the boat landing each time can prevent a lot of elbow grease later. I don't wax my boats anymore. Aerospace 303 or Bassboatsaver sprayed on and wiped off every few weeks is better than a wax IMO. The give it a great smooth gloss finish and actually provide UV protection as well. My last two used boats were in fantastic shape. The buyers were very impressed with the condition of the gelcoat!
