Where to go?

With all this talk about the fishing opener moved up, it has me making decisions. Since I work all weekend of the current opener, moving it up would actually be good for my situation.

I have several choices: Bemidji, Cass, Blackduck, Winni, Leech, URL, or other. The only lakes I've open-water fished are bemidji and cass, with cass being the most experience out of any of them (15-20 times). They are all similar distance from home being that I'll need to drive there/back/there/back for the weekend. I've fished local lakes on the last 4-5 years of openers and had minimal success. The lakes on past openers are also not known for numbers, but for size only. I'm having a hard time sitting in the boat all day to maybe catch one nice fish this year, and looking for some more consistent action throughout the day.

I don't mind crowds too much. It's just a shame in my mind that I live relatively close to many great fisheries and spend most of my time on little pot-holes. Not to say the pot-holes can't have great fishing as well, but you know what I mean. With a larger boat this year, I just want to take advantage! The landings always scare me since I don't want to look like a fool (ie where to park, my turn/your turn, ect), and it's just something that I've never dealt with. I guess I'm leaning towards Red, but I think that is where the largest crowds will be.
