First week in march?

Recommended Posts

Time to start planning again for a few early spring trips. I am looking into the first week of March as the first one. Anyone have any thoughts on any lakes that will be on fire for walleges then? Looking at maybe Stockton as it is a touch closer to KC than some of the others. Any thoughts on the spawn progression at that time on the Missouri lakes? Just wanted to get the season and some conversations started. KCW

Right now should be a good time on the Mississippi, just below the dams! I haven't heard any reports and the people that fish for them are very tight lipped when they are on! Wish I could help you more on the lakes, but thats all I got!

Thanks Barry. Appreciate it. Probably won't venture over to the Mississippi from KC this year but it could become an option if nothing else pans out.

Greg Polsgrove runs (last time I heard) Hawker Point Store on the west side of the lake. I (KC Findley) used to work on the fire dept. with him up here in St. Joe. Give him a google. I'm sure he could help. cool

In Mark Twain in March I'd be working any in running creeks looking for fish staging to spawn. I usually catch them trolling shad rap type baits.

Thanks for the replies. It seems as if we may be leaning toward Stockton or potentially Milford in KS. Anyone have any thoughts on the spawn progression at these two lakes at the beginning of March. Where would you start out fishing them if you were fishing them? Any ideas would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance. KC
