Jiffy legend stealth

I have to say this auger rips through the ice! I like that it is as fast as a laser and blades will last way longer! It's the 2hp tecumseh and 8" cut. I would recommend this drill to anyone. It is a little heavier then my strike master but the performance is worth it! Only thing bad about this unit is you end up wearing some ice shavings grin the drill spins so fast you don't need to scoop much from the hole. All in all very pleased. wink

I have a Jiffy stealth stx pro 9". It's the 2hp with the Tecumseh motor. Best auger I've had. Prior to this one i had a 10" Lazer nice fast augur, but over all I like the Jiffy better. The blades to me are better than the shaver blades, because I can sharpen them on my own and a nick of sand isn't going to stop me from drilling a hole

"a nick of sand isn't going to stop me from drilling a hole"

This is why I jumped on the deal I got for mine! $260 for as new as used can get! I had to break in the motor! The guy I bought this from said it was close to 500 new back when he bought it! The stealth blades were still perfectly painted yellow smile The lakes by my house are pretty busy so the sand on the lake is a big issue. ... Was a big issue. grin I do love my 6" laser strikemaster though But if I had choose 1 it's the new Jiffy

Never had a bit of sand ruin my blades on my Solo. Yes, sand will wear them down but it takes some drilling for that to happen. I am on year 4 with the original set of blades and I cut alot of holes when I go out ice fishing.

I had a Jiffy Stealth 10" and it did cut very well but was way to heavy for hole hoping.

I used a file on the blade edge and could go for a few years on one set.

Like I said, I was very happy with the auger but it was about 10#-13#'s to heavy to lug around.

love my jiffy as well, i have a stealth stx 3hp. 10" and it really does throw the shavings, the chipper blades are also great for reopening holes in my permy house,my blades are afew years old and still cut great, shaver blades will strugle opening old holes,

like harvey said its heavy and not for those who hole hop, but mine suits me fine,

mike.
