Water clarity on Holcombe is never very good. The water is very dark, and weeds do not grow very deep at all (maybe out to 6 FoW). I would think at that time of year the smallies would start to be found a little deeper in the western basin. I'd try lipless crankbaits until I find a few and then I'd start to really focus on where I caught them with tubes or jigs.

For muskies you can either troll large cranks in the western basin, or cast your typical baits in the eastern basin (topwaters, jerkbaits and bucktails).
