Ryan_V
Another thing to consider.... You said your eyes have been still getting worse. You need to have had a steady prescription for at least a couple years. If you are still changing, you are not a candidate. Even if you have the lasic, your eyes can still change naturally. have your eye dr. make a recommendation. I followed the recommendation of mine and couldn't be happier. EJ_Mac
Something to consider as far as cost. When I had it done back in 2002, I was told that the cost can vary by how many different doctors/clinics use the laser equipment required to do the surgery. It's apparently so expensive (at least back then) that it's often shared among different clinics. If that still holds true, you may have better luck getting a more manageable price in a larger metro area like the cities.I had mine done in Roanoke, VA and it cost me almost $5000. But like everyone else, it was still the best money I've ever spent: went from 20/400 and blind as a bat since the 5th grade to 20/15, which I'm still at today. If somoene is advertising to do it for a price as low as $399 per eye, I'd be making darn sure I do some research into the expereince and skill level of the folks doing the work. That sounds way too good to be true, especially with one's vision at state.
Scott M
Minnesota Eye Consultants. My wife started working there earlier this year, so I got it at cost and she gets it for free. I paid most of my balance with a health savings account I had saved for a little while. It was quick and easy, no pain, and other than some halos around lights at night which will go away, I saw 20/20 immediately. I hated contacts and glasses.MN Eye Consultants do a lot of pro athletes, but they don't advertise on TV or the radio. N/O to the other LASIK places, but I'd rather have a doctor that is focused on me rather than hitting 100,000 people.Still, having said that, the rate of correction incidence is so tiny that you aren't risking much no matter where you go. I know its spendy, but so is contacts every year or glasses for life. You'll be happy you did it if you can get past the upfront costs. Some places let you finance. Good luck.
