goose89
Hey all,I travel a fair amount of gravel (not much, but enough) with my boat on fishing trips. I've been looking for someone / an outfit that can apply "chip gaurd" (3M Scotchgaurd Paint Protection Film) to boat trailer's leading edges. Same stuff that alot of the newer vehicles have along the front of hoods or wheel wells areas that are suseptible to taking rocks. I've got a good rock / mud flap, and know all about the TowTectors. Not looking for any suggestions there. Just looking for someone that has had it done / or knows of anyone that has experience doing it...esp. to boat trailers. Application is quite a bit different than to a car /truck. PM me if needed. Not trying to elicit advertising, just want my boat trailer to stay lookin' new. goose89
It's different, from the little I've found out, in that there's a 90 degree bend involved around the bottom and leading edge of the trailer tube. I've been told the film is quite rigid, and might require heat to bend around the corner.
JohnMickish
I know the Towsley Ford body shop does this to vehicles, call them to see if they can help you.
goose89
Thanks mnfishinguy, lots of businesses / dealerships work with it on cars / trucks. I've got a couple leads on places that have done trailers and boats.
