fishinfey8
If money wasn't an issue (pretend you ceo of a major corporation), and you wanted to go to the nicest possible fishing destinations within the lower 48 and canada; where would it be? Also, one of the main reasons for going on the trip is to bring a bunch of friends and talk business during the trip while fishing.
smb1
Alaska would be first choice, but since that's out, I would suggest two places: #Crow Rock Lodge on Lake of the Woods, using one of their two private nearby cabins. The cabins are large, completely private, very, very nice and yet you can boat over to the main lodge for meals, if you want, guides, etc...plus they have a number of smaller lakes that they have exclusive rights to that you can fish. #The Manitou Weather Station on Lower Manitou Lake...a very unique operation, with extraordinary cabins set in a very private setting and on a very interesting lake. (Bearing in mind that I have no interest in fishing for walleye.) Of course, there are plenty of places in the Florida Keys (where I have fished most of my life), like Hawk Key, Cheeca Lodge, etc. Impossible to top the Keys in the lower 48. Also, one of the main reasons for going on the trip is to bring a bunch of friends and talk business during the trip while fishing. Go to Rainy Lake Houseboats and rent the Chairman. You have a chef, guides, a captain, and linens all included. You'll also have a captive audience to talk business.
smb1
I forgot about the houseboat thing--I would second that also, it's the trip I've always wanted to make (using a top of the line houseboat)...but I prefer fishing the Canadian side of Rainy, and it's too complicated (for me)to take the hb across the border. But it would be a great trip.
