pontoon trolling motor

Is there a special built Minnkota trolling motor for a pontoon? I've seen them described that way on the online auction site, but had never seen one in a store. What would you recommend putting on a smaller pontoon, just thinking a 55 lb should be plenty strong. 48 or 54 ich shaft?

I'm assuming you want to mout it on the front deck? Just measure from the deck down to the water line. You obviously want to be deep enough but dont want to be to deep. The way a pontoon is layed out, its harder to see all the way to the front if you are in shallower water and you wouldnt want to accidentalyy till the bottom.

More thrust is better. A pontoon can be pretty hard to push in a wind.

I have a 65 pound 24v original powerdrive on my 22 foot pontoon. 48 inch shaft, works great.
