I need help with a oxygen regulator/bait tank

Recommended Posts

I have been looking for a regulator that has a built in flow meter for a bait tank. This is the only one I can find that connects to regular welding type oxygen tanks. I've searched a few different sites and still this is the only one I can find without hooking up one of those medical type glass flow meters to a regular regulator. My bait dealer friend says I need about .5 liters of oxygen and a fine pore carbon stone to do it right in a 32 gal tank. This might be a great regulator at a fair price but I always like to compare. Anyone ever see one like this anywhere? If not I think I'll go with this as it does look like it would do the job. My purpose is to be able to hold about 2 gallons of shiners for about 5 hours drive time. The micro bubble ceramic stone looks pretty tempting also fo $79. Anybody got any advice? I don't want the preset regulator that hooks up to 1 lb. oxy tanks.

The one I was looking at is made by KeepAlive.

This is not a direct answer to your question but is it possible to buy an inverter for the vehicle and then use a regular aquarium air pump and an air stone to keep them oxygenated? I would think that and a block of ice to lower their metabolism might be an alternative worth looking into.

Can't answer your question either, but you may want to check the laws, having an open oxygen tank in a vehicle may be against the law.
