midwesthunter
What is the difference between the panfish sweet heart rod and the quiverstick? I couldn't find much info about either under the description on their HSOforum. Also, can both of these rods handle a 1/16th ounce spoon?thanks
robert aldrich
the sweet heart rod has 6 eyes and the quiverstick has 5 eyes. that means the sweet heart rod will be a more sensitive rod tip and the quiverstick will have a less sensitive tip. it will be good for the weight of the spoon you have. i use a 1/16th ounce spoon on my deadstick. i look at the backbone of a ice fishing pole. go to your local bait shop and talk to them about it. just a warning that if you go to a bait shop make sure that it is run by a local fisherman because they will know more the rods and gear because they might have used them when they go out ice fishing. midwesthunter
I was under the impression that the quiverstick had a more sensitive/lighter action then the panfish sweat heart. What fishing technique to each of these rods excel at? slipperybob
I've only played with the display quiverstick. The quiverstick is lighter and suppose to be more sensitive. These are jigging rods. They should excel at better jigging presentations.
robert aldrich
techniques changes from person to person like one of my technique for horizontal jigs is to: drop down to the level of fish you see on a flasher and then to raise it slowly, drop slowly, raise slowly, drop slowly, raise slowly, and drop slowly until they bite. spoons i do a quick jig to minic a wouned fish. not sure at What fishing technique to each of these rods excel at. buzbunni
Listen to this guy, he's an expert! He's been ice fishing seriously all of a couple of months, after all. I know anglers that have been fishin' for years that understand far less than r.a. does.
BehindtheHead
the quiverstick has the recoil guides which makes it a lot lighter rod. i have been using mine for jigging anything from a small marmuska all the way to buckshots. its a super sensitive rod with a great back bone.all my sweatheart rods are my spring bobber rods. the biggest i go on them is a small swedish pimples. and they mostly stay inside the shack because the spring bobbers freeze up.when im outside jigging sunfish, crappies, or perch im using the power noodle with recoil guides. this is a amazing rod for small presentations.im a tip/line watcher, i dont do well with sensitive rods expecially with my cold hands. i always have gloves on. so i like the noodle the best.
