Any new equipment?

I bought my new clubs last summer. I'd love to upgrade again this summer to something better but I won't be employed after June so that's out. I will have to stock up on balls. I received an add in the mail the other day that Taylormade Pentas are $6 cheaper than I was paying for them last year.

Just picked up a Kodak Playsport HD waterproof Video camera....

In the 720P 60 fps mode it does a great job of slow motion to 1/16th speed along with frame by frame shots. smile

This could be a valuable tool for seeing your swing and making the necessary adjustments....for you hacks anyway... grin

This is an outstanding HD recorder that fits in your pocket, its about the size of a cell phone.

Currently $104 delivered from amazon!

I did stop in Scheels in Mankato today and picked up a different set of golf shoes. I had a pair of Dexters that I was wearing for the past 2 years. I bought those in a pinch and they didn't quite fit right from day one. The new pair are Footjoy Contours. Incredible feel. Almost like putting a pillow on your feet.

Now my son is talking of joining back up with the golf team this spring as well as running track. So there might be a new set of clubs in my future regardless.

Love Footjoy's!!! Best golf shoes I have worn!!!

I am going to pick up a new 3 wood (TM Burner ) to match the driver I got mid-season last year. Probably pick up a new carry bag as well, as I don't like the straps and storage on the 15 year old Ping bag I have.

Gotta go grab some refurb Pro-V1* from golf smith (target has em too but I'm still boycotting them).

I usually regrip my own clubs, but don't have a place to do that at the moment so I guess I'll bite the bullet and pay someone to do it for me. Sometimes the shops will let me in their workshops to do my own work, usually at the local shops, not so much the big stores. Std Tour Velvet with an extra layer of tape please. Velvet Victories if you got em, haven't seen them around in a while though.

Del, which wedges did he pick up? I grabbed a Cleveland cg12 last year and absolutely love it. (It's the DSG with the raw tour grind finish)

He bought clevelands( the old grooves). He regrips his own also. Buys them on the "bay". My shop down stairs is part golf, a little archery, some handy man type stuff, and FISHING!grin

ha. Yeah, I have a backup for the day I actually take the PAT. I've got some other things to take care of before that day comes around.

That workroom sounds pretty similar to what I've got in the works if I can close on this house here.

It'll never be the same as it was in college though, doing complete club maintenance in the dorms is tricky, but I'll never forget that...

He going into the teaching pro gig or the actual touring pro? I'd love to do the latter but need to work a lot more than i can afford to right now. Competitive golf, at that level, is a blast.

It would be for teaching. He doesn't know if he wants to give up playing in the many tourn at the smaller courses though. He has a lot of fun doing that too! Being a scratch golfer he's not good enough nor wants to spend the time and money for the pros.

Cheaper!! Since he still plans to stay a amature for this year, he can play them. He was able to buy two of the old style for the price of one new one.( he is alot like his dad! Cheap! )

gotcha, I think normal pros can still use them for a few years (2014?)and Ams can use them for a long time.. I would be fine without them but I love them out of the rough around the greens.

I15s it is for me, it's the only iron that I like looking down on. Also thing about trading my 909D2 for the 910..

I also use the Contours occasionally, but my go-to shoe is the Addidas adiPURE shoe. They are by far, the most comfortable shoe I've owned. I will generally only walk, so shoe comfort is more important to me than just about anything. Sticking with Addidas was nice since I carry all Taylor Made gear(other than my putter).

Since leaving my job as a golf pro seven years ago, my dollars have swung steadily away from golf and towards fishing. I did get fitted for a new set of Mizuno MP32s a couple years back, but that may be the last set of clubs I ever buy.

Man, I miss the free (or personal use discount) clubs, balls, clothes etc...

After picking up my new pair of mizuno mp 60's last year I am set on irons. I need to pick up my 3 new wedges that I need every year. (vockey) I am also going to pick up the new Callaway Razr Hawk driver. I'm using the FT 5 now, and love the feel of callaway drivers, and this one is just awesome. Other than that I am set.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
