05 Ford Steering

My steering is getting horrible. When you go to turn the wheel, you have to CRANK on it. Fluid is full, so im assuming its the pump?

Thoughts?

Does the pump whine at all? Can you see if it is pumping fluid? I would have to agree, a bad p/s pump.

I would also say pump. Those pumps are pretty bullet proof but when they go it is quick. I have had a few like that and they never make any noise.

there is no sound at all, just very hard to turn.. every once in a while it will turn easy, but 9 out of 10 it is bad

Listening to car talk from a few weeks ago and it is the pump or the rack. Sounded like you should hope it's the pump. This was a guy with a old cadillac baritz that was hard to steer. (I listen to cartalk podcasts on my ipod. free on itunes)
