JBMasterAngler
Does the apple river have trout in it? I can imagine downstream of somerset it probably doesn't. My dad always told me back in the old days (40+ years ago) that him and my grandpa used to get some big browns out of there. Just wondering if there may still be some swimming around in there. I've only fished it where it comes into the croix, and have caught alot of smallies and walleyes...but that was 15 or so years ago, and even that may have changed. PartyWhine
The only part I can speak from personal experience on would be from Star Prairie to Sommerset.Loads of trout. More bows than browns.
Scudly
Yeah class II water below Star Prairie. It is on my to do list. Know one guy who caught decent browns there before. http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/species/trout/trout_maps/Polk_color_portrait.pdf
