Esox_Magnum
Time has come to respool all my muskie reels, some new some old... I see theres a few new brands o the market since I last stocked up on line. Anyone have a chance to use the Vicious (sp) or Suffix 832 yet. Always been a Power Pro or Invisibraid guy but open to suggestions on the new stuff out there.
rymcneil
I just bought the new suffix 832 80# test. I haven't tried yet for muskies but I've been useing the 8# for walleyes on the river and I love it. It cuts through the current for easier jigging and when your casting you don't get the sound of the line like the other braided. All and all that's my new line for now on
propster
I tried 80# Vicious on one of my reels last year. Pretty round and stays fairly dry. I like it.
nater
Haven't heard much about Vicous but James Linder said he really liked the 832 last year. Stayed really dry with the GORE in it and showed little wear he said. I'll be trying out the 832 on one setup for sure.
Esox_Magnum
Maybe I'll just get a spool of each and see how they do.
cbrooks
This is the first I heard of vicious or 832. I'm interested to hear your feedback on it. What pound test are you going Esox?
Esox_Magnum
80 or 100 whatever I find...I won't go under 80 on my muskie gear.
rugbymn
I compared the 80# Sufix Performance Braid to PowerPro last year and the Sufix beat the PP hands down in my opinion. I'm going to try the 832 on one of my reels to start out with. If all of the hype is true, I'm sure I'll be spooling the rest of my reels with it before long. hunter991
Suffix 832 looks great and so does their performance braid.I have a reel with almost every kind of braid. PP! Vicious! Suffix, and spider. Vicious is my least favorite. Doesn't cast as well as the others. Stealth not that great either but went with suffix last year and it's been awesome. for me it's suffix then pp.
Musky Buck
Still had a spool of Whiplash to load up for the season, my favorite for no reason other than never having a breakage since going to it is ye olde Tuf-Line in 80 pound test, dark green, this Spring the plan is to take line off to the backing point, and reverse spool it back on so I get an extra year out of it. Hard to argue any superbraid that's 80 pound+, should do the job for you.
