Although that hole fortunately had a bottom to it, others may not.

Caution is always well advised. This season has far more real concerns and worry points than ever. So don't get pulled into the thinking all is Honky Dory, when it surely is not.

Safety and vigilance on the ice is not Hype.

You're looking at this the wrong way...The more concerned about the ice people are, the less people will be on the ice And more room for the dare devel on 4wd...Ice is terrible guys, stay off the lakes

No ice is safe, this I agree with.

I was on Medicine and Black Lake yesterday, trucks all over the lake. There was a LOT of ice. Just need 4 wheel drive to get around. Fishing was no good but the ice was plenty thick.

Does anyone know the exact location of this "hole".....i think i hit it last night in my truck doing 15 MPH....scared the S#%* out of me!

The hole i hit was over by the Ramsey Beach launch...lucky i was moving fast enough to plow over it...but the front end of my F150 dipped down about a foot, and a huge splash came over my hood.

dis-regard...the "hole" i hit was out on White Bear Lake.....propane fumes are not making me any smarter....sorry!
