lakeshoremunster
okay guys, question for you humminbird users. I just bought a new 45 two weeks ago, used to using the vex series flashers, had a 18 and sold it.My issue with the humminbird is that I have to turn the gain up all the way to 50 in order to see my lure, I have tried both beams and narrow is a bit better but not by much. I have taken the support cable off and even tried to use the flasher with out the cable float, and neither one of the seems to help.Today I was in 60fow and was only able to pick up my jig down to 20fow and it wasnt a solid line all the way down too. My buddy had his ice 45 out there also and he only needed the gain set to 13 and our screen display was showing two different things. Now what can I do to get it to work right, I dont want to send it in right now because then I will not have a flasher to use. I am almost at the point were I am going to box it up and bring it back to the store.
lakeshoremunster
by the way I am mostly using crappie lures, along with just a hook and minnow
mole
I have a 45, my gain is usually about 35-40 and it will pick up my hook and split shot in one hole and a jig in another hole with no problem. I drill them about 1-2 ft. apart with a third hole for the flasher above and between them. I do that so I dont tangle a fish coming up thru the hole the flasher is in. Call Hummingbird and ask them, if they cant help take it back.
Slabasaurus
I had this problem with my ice 35 for a few minutes last weekend. I was able to see my jig, a little, but it was noisy. A buddy of mine had his 35 out as well and it was workin just fine. After trying a few settings and not getting anywhere, I pushed the ducer cable in a bit in the back and that fixed it right up. Surface Tension
"After trying a few settings and not getting anywhere, I pushed the ducer cable in a bit in the back and that fixed it right up." Good call.Could be that you tilted the display and the cord snagged on something. I make sure I have enough slack between the plug and wrapped up cord. silverbulletguy
I had that happen a couple times also. I found that my Ice-35 needs to have the ducer completely below the ice. I thought it was but after I made sure it was below the ice it works fine. I think it was partially resting on the side of the hole and that made it hang at an angle. Worth a shot.
