broken_line
i have a buddies xcr in the shop and i cleand the carbs spotless and it still is flooding once it starts running.. what could it be? bad needle and seat, choke cable? it has a little under 125 psi each cylinder and good spark. tonkapat
First thing I would do is pull the drain bolts on the crank to see if there is a bunch of fuel in it. If there is fuel in the crank then go after the needle and seats. Otherwise it sounds like a stuck choke.
witgey&water
It could be a stuck float in the carburetor? I had this happen to me once after cleaning the carburetors on a Polaris storm.

I would say the same, stuck float! Bad needle valve. Also, check the air box for mouse nests! I just rebuilt the carb on my buddies sled and it ran great for a few min's then sucked in a mouse nest from the air box! I had to clean that out and reclean the carb again!!!!! Runs great now. Macgyver55
Gotta be a needle and seat/ dirt, float or a stuck choke enrichment valve. The only other thing I could think of is a jet fell out....and we all know that wont happen to you again!
broken_line
haha no it wasnt the jet was the first thing i checked this time though! i took the needle and seat out of a 1973 tx 400 carb and it doesnt flood that cylinder anymore.
