Wii issues

Kids have a wii and it is not consistently reading games, specifically mario kart. Game is new, not scratched. tried the lense cleaner. worked for one game then went back to not working. Will let you select player and and loads to "start game" point and then cant read disc error comes up. Anyone ever send one in for repair?

Does this problem ONLY happen with Mario Kart? Or others occasionally too?

Most often with mario Kart. but have noticed other discs not loading or taking longer to load. THere are plenty of discs that are damaged that dont work. But this disc is practically new and not scratched. have read where lense cleaning may need to be done a few times. I only tried twice.

Has the heck been played out the Wii? I have heard reports about the drive failing, disc spinning motor goes bad.

I had this problem, well kinda... Disks would start then freeze or what ever. My younger ones had it on the carpet blocking one of the vents. After this was stoped it has worked good.

When I had my Wii I had similar problems. I contacted nintendo and since it was under warranty they said they could ship me a new one and then I would ship my damaged one back or I could ship mine and they would try to repair it. I went with the first route and had a new one in about a week, no cost to me.

Thanks for replys. I will look into it more this weekend. It is 3 years old so nothing under warranty.

It'll cost $75 for a reman. to be shipped to you. Go to nintendo.com and fill out the form. You'll lose all you game saved data, but that's life.
