Best ice fishing line

Well, i'm looking for some opinions on what you think is the best ice fishing line would be. Remember, i'm brand new to this, so my knowledge is very limited.

My target species are panfish, and the occasional walleye if I can hook into them. Right now, i've just got some cheap 4lb Trilene Cold Weather on. But I know there has to be some better stuff out there.

Ya know, I dont think there is a better line out there for the price than micro ice. It lasts a month or better without too much coil, then you change it.

Every line I have tried does the same. I change line probably 3-4 times an ice season. Its cheaper for me to use the Berk

I use the Lindy line in 3lb for panfish, 4lb Lindy for deadsticking walleye. I also use 10lb PP Ice on a rod for walleye/pike with a Vanish leader for the eyes. My jigging rod has 10lb Fireline with a 6lb Vanish leader.

I like the Lindy line, nearly invisible underwater, very little coiling like mono.

I've been trying the new Suffix and Lindy ice lines this year. So far I've been really happy with both of them and would probably say the Lindy line has been my favorite this year.

As far as the Trilene lines go, I am not a fan and don't use them any more. There's better options out there now IMO.

Hope this helps and good luck.

All line is junk and will freeze if you hole hop when it's cold out. If you fish inside all the time almost any line will work good.

I've used some braided Power Pro on some of my heavier setups and its been stellar. I think the stuff I have on now is 30lb test with a 8lb diameter.

Best fishing line is mostly opinions...because everybody fishes a little diffrent. Now there are some lines that are better than others fresh from the spool. Some have better strength, some have less memory, some are more soft and supple, some have high abrasion resistance, some have consistency from beginning to end of the line, etc.,...
