*8* Bean home made Bean Soup cooking in crock pot now.

The house smells amazing.

2 bags 7 bean dried beans

soak them 12 hours in water

rinse beans and put in crock pot

cover beans with water about 1.5 inches over

2 onion soup mixes

2 pounds of chunked ham

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon celery flakes

salt and pepper to taste.

Served with corn bread.

I assume you set the crockpot on high....about how long?

crock pot on high for 6 hours then for last 2 on low.

LHarris, how many ounces of beans are in the bags of beans you use? I am making your recipe (thanks) and two bags of what I found in the store (15 bean soup making beans)looks like too many beans to me. Ther bags I bought are 20 ounces apiece... Thanks.
