you could say that

BUT

I believe the 48 would have raced much different those first 26 are making the chase now

i think knaus would do things different

not saying he would have won them all

but it doesnt matter cuz thats not the way it is

kinda like saying if the twins didnt hafta play the yankees they would have 3 world serious...lol

I will never put him with Petty, Earnhardt, or even Gordo

I dunno how you cant he has more chamionship the jeff

i believe his winnin percentage is probably as high as those 3 if not higher gordon cant beat him now thats a real life comparision

as for petty and the ole man i dont think there is or was a better

driver than the 3 and i'm not a earnhardt fan or jimmie j fan for that matter

as far as old points to the chase of today and it being a 48 show

maybe it is but there are 43 others drivers and crew chiefs that cant figure it out

you hafta compare apples to apples

like i said i kinda believe if it was the old points you might have the same results

knaus races for championships and obiviously knows what it takes to wininng them hence change the crew with 3 races to go

which i thought was a bad move but i guess thats why chad is where he is and i'm siiting here writing this...lol

give credit where credit is do

he will probably tie the 43 and 3 but his will be in a row not over a period of yrs

A person can spin it any way they would like but JJ is the Champ.

I agree Greg that JJ may have raced differntly if the rules were the other way.

JJ just might go down as the winningest driver if he races long enough. He has already passed ol Gordo in championships.

One could go on and on about what if but it is not a what if game.

Go JJ. You da man.

yeah I agree his numbers may pass them all, but how can it be the same when they reset the points for the last 10 races. Harvicks commanding points lead was erased, played right into JJs hands, Im not bashing JJ hes the man to beat, juast hate the format now, makes most of the season less meaningful. more fishing for me though, so go JJ! laugh

every body know whats going to happen when the 1st 26 are over

i agree they need to something so you hafta race harder or not lose so much when it starts over

i said it before but i think the 48 uses the first 26 for like testing

being as testing is gone by the way side

I agree it stinks for the guy with a big points lead but they are the rules.

They all know this going into the season, right or wrong and they all have to play by the same rules.

JJ did not change the rules and a win is a win. Nothing more, nothing less.

I agree with most of this, but some of the anti-chase comments are exactly why they made the chase: so if somebody had a big point lead they couldn't wrap it up with 5 to go. I think the year Kenseth won was the last non-chase year, and yes the last few races he coasted around in 3rd gear because he had nothing to gain.

ya maybe had havick saved alittle he might of had more left the last 10

but ya i think tony s had a big lead the yr before

i think last will keep nascar from changing it much this yr hoping they can luck out again

maybe they should have a deal like with 3 to go everybody could throw out their worst race in the chase

maybe that would tighten it up again

or...or......or

who knows.....lol

Gee ya think so....LOL..... Pretty ignorant to suggest JJ would have only 2 titles under the old format...laughable actually.

JJ is probably the best of all time and I don't see much of an argument there at all.

I know you OLD schoolers don't see that way and that's fine.

Gordon is still my favorite but he can't and hasn't carried JJ's Jockstrap for quite sometime..... smile and that's goes for Martin and Earnhardt who are using the same resources.

hard to argue best of all times 5 in a row

proof is in the pudding

as good as the 24 is he is racing agaist jj so thats a real comparison

is better than eranhardt petty pearson one would hafta to probably

BUT i think what makes him better is the ability to keep him and knaus together

i think that chemistry is key

i'll tell some one that doesnt get the respect as a driver is ned jarrett if you look at his winning per centage he might have the best

r petty better than k petty

i'm thinking so

what ever era you dont win 200 races and the next best is 100

granted pearson didnt run the full schedule but still

thats alot above the rest 7 championships

kinda always seems the the kids arnt quite as good as their dads

not always but more often than not

kyle did win 12 races i think lots of drivers wish they could say that

I would hate to be a driver who's father was a great. Fans seem to think they also should be great and that would be a great amount of pressure. Think of the pressure that K Petty and Jr have gone through to be just as good as thier father's. Heck no other drivers have done that well ever.
