Best lake chip?

Hands down, Lakemaster. I have both chips. The Lakemaster has more detail on it for most of the lakes and you can zoom in a lot closer to your targeted area. I have won bass tournaments because of the detail on the Lakemaster chip and done very well ice fish also.

I would also go with the Lakemaster chips. You will have to go to thier HSOforum and look at what lakes you fish the most and then match that up with the chips they sell.

Watch the For Sale forum here on FM as there are typically some for sale.

These chips seem to change every year with more high def maps for the lakes.

The zoom depoends on the lowrance you are using. My old global map didn't zoom in far. I now use the nav in a hd7 and can zoom into 50'. That said look at what lakes they cover and the lakes you fish. I got the nav because it covered Wis and MN with lakemaster I would have needed 2 chips and that would have cost more. Also the lakes I fish were not on lakemaster but were on nav. So just check the list of lakes that they cover and compare that to the lakes you fish and there you go.

I got a LM this year for a trip to Mn, was not impressed. I used it a total of 3 hours and put my 07 Navionice back in. I prefer the choices on the Nav and the depth shading was much better. As far as being on both were the same as far as showing contours and hazards. I also run a HDS unit zoom was to 50 feet. I also like the fact 1 chip covers any waters I fish or will fish in a season in 6 different states.
